So I got this book. Creative Flash Photography: Great Lighting with Small Flashes: 40 Flash Workshops It was just right to get me out of this rut I’m currently in. I actually have loads of photography ideas, but my hubby doesn’t. So if he won’t do the assignments, neither can I. So instead I’m starting off with these 40 Flash Workshops.
Today is #1. Which is to make a decent professional headshot using just the on camera flash and a reflector. Basically you tilt the on camera flash sideways and let it bounce of the reflector making a much larger light source for your subject. Creating much softer light. I think it works, although I think the headshot in the book could be better. I know mine stinks, if it was to be a headshot.
Ok, so I didn’t manage a professional headshot. I did manage the lighting set up though. I think it worked.
Since I’m also dabbling a bit in retouching I just had to fiddle a bit with the image. Anyway, first done, 39 to go.
